Message From Randall Jordan, Chairman, Tea Party California Caucus

Dear Fellow Tea Party Members and Supporters:

We are about 80 days till the November 6 election—and with the Labor Day weekend, absentee ballots coming out in fifty days, the election is here—and NOW. Whether you are working for an Assembly or Congressional candidate, city council or school board member, we need to work as a Team—we win when all our candidates win. Even if working for a specific candidate, you can still help the others.

At midnight on August 31 this session of the legislature is coming to a close. That means we need to be watching our email and text messages, to learn of bills that are being brought to the floor for a vote. You need to act quickly, by phone is best, to let your Assembly member or State Senator know where you stand on the key issues. The last minutes calls, visits and emails are important to show the flag—but also to show you are watching. It is very difficult to get any attention on a bill in the last three weeks of session. If a legislator gets a few dozen calls or emails on a single bill, that is BIG. We make a difference when we speak up. Be silent is a guarantee not to be heard.

This past weekend the Tea Party California Caucus held its second annual “Real Resistance” conference in Fresno. Over the next few weeks we will be attaching a YouTube version of the presentations to these newsletters. It will give you an idea of what you have missed—and not to miss it next year, you need to be present to get the most out of the knowledge and experience of others—we can turn around California, but we need to Education, Motivate and then Activate the grassroots.

Finally, this is early but the next California primary in March 3, 2020—the Democrats changed the date due to it being a presidential year. That means in 14 months, filing will open for Legislative office. Now is the time to start thinking about running in 2020—and if you are going to run, start creating your campaign Team and Political Plan. We can help you with that—but you need to start work on that NOW.

Randall Jordan
Chairman Tea Party California Caucus

QUOTES FOR FREEDOM

I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom. It is the history of our nation, and it's marked by the blood of those who died defending it. ~ John Thune

Without freedom of thought, there can be no such thing as wisdom - and no such thing as public liberty without freedom of speech. ~ Benjamin Franklin

There is only one kind of freedom and that's individual liberty. Our lives come from our creator and our liberty comes from our creator. It has nothing to do with government granting it. ~ Ron Paul

“I am an American; free born and free bred, where I acknowledge no man as my superior, except for his own worth, or as my inferior, except for his own demerit.” ‑~ Theodore Roosevelt

HUMOR OF THE WEEK:

Rudy Giuliani told CNN the Russia investigation could help Republicans in the midterms because Americans are getting tired of all the drama. Then America was like, “We’ve had 62 seasons of ‘Real Housewives’ — we NEVER get tired of drama.”

The NFL's Arizona Cardinals have launched a new competition where fans can win a team jersey and get their photo on the scoreboard if they eat a burger consisting of five patties, five hot dogs, five bratwursts, eight slices of bacon, eight chicken tenders, 12 ounces of fries, lettuce, pickles, sauce, and 20 slices of cheese in under an hour. Said one fan, "Ugh, lettuce?"

A beach near San Francisco yesterday hosted the annual world dog surfing championships. And just like last year, the surfers had a really hard time staying on their dogs.

Construction workers recently found a 124-year-old time capsule underneath a school in Massachusetts that contains two newspapers, silver war medals, and the first season of "Grey's Anatomy."

Auntie Anne's has announced it will begin selling pumpkin spice pretzel nuggets next month. So, if you like pumpkin spice and you like eating at the mall… you could probably use some good news.

New research has found that settlers of North America took more than one route to get to the continent. Unfortunately, the ones who used Apple Maps didn't make it.
